Culver progressive, Branstad not
N/A

Do we really need a rehash of the Branstad era?
I don't remember life being so great when he was governor. His platform sounds like much of the same. Laying off government workers and lowering the wages of the rest doesn't give me much comfort.
I enjoy good schools, good roads and feel safe knowing we have plenty of police and firemen for our protection.
The Republicans talk about our civil rights being taken away by our judges, yet the first thing Branstad will do is work to repeal same-sex marriage.
The definition of “family” has changed, but he just doesn't get it. If we don't belong to the religious right, we just don't count.
Governor Culver has done a superior job, given all of the natural disasters. He is not to blame for a national recession and has stepped up his I-JOBS program to help flood recovery and keep our workers employed.
Despite his opponent's rhetoric, the budget is balanced, and Iowa is sixth in the nation for solvency. Chet Culver is a progressive governor, and he is what Iowa needs to survive the recession, not someone who doesn't deliver on his campaign promises.
