Culver bests Branstad on Iowa jobs

Terry Branstad boasts that he can create jobs.
A review of Iowa Workforce Development records show that after Branstad's first term as governor, the number of employed in Iowa was exactly the same number as his first month as lieutenant governor. There was not a single additional job, while the number of unemployed workers in Iowa increased by 42,000 for the same period.
Each annual unemployment rate during Branstad's first term exceeded the annual unemployment rates while Chet Culver has been governor, including 2010 through September. Every month Culver has been governor more people have been employed in Iowa than when Branstad left office.
When Branstad was in office, he raised the sales tax and the gas tax on the poor and middle class to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy. Now Branstad wants to return to cut preschool for the children of Iowa to pay for tax cuts for business. Show me a wealthy person whose biggest concern is their tax rates, and I will show you a person who lives in spiritual poverty.
Culver may be a “big lug,” but he has a big heart full of passion for helping Iowans reach their full potential. Support Chet Culver with four minutes of your time by voting for him, and he will give you four years of his life doing everything possible to make Iowa a better place to live, work and learn and to recover from any disaster that may strike.
