Crowd mentality fuels overblown racism concerns

America has been held hostage for nearly three decades by racism diatribes designed more to deepen divisions and offenses of people than encourage reasoning thought. Through giving the “crowd mentality” of emotionally driven protests more influence that the core beliefs, that built this nation. We have exposed our problems of impatience, mistrust and a lack of faith in the author of America's liberty.
Racism is a symptom of our stereotypical assumption of humanity's worse probabilities, hastily followed by an overreaction to nightmarish situations, compounded with a delusional misconception of another's intentions, that all too often coalesces in senseless violence.
On July 28, several items caught my attention, a letter, “Find your purpose and continue on that path” asked, “Is your attitude to give or only receive?” Jesus taught that it doesn't matter how another lives but what your life says about you.
The column, “How to talk about race” listed 12 items to help change us. Simplistically, judgmental attitudes of confrontation do more to increase differences between us and therefore deny the probability of contentment gained through forgiveness.
Finally, the column, “Some rights leaders skew racial reality” quotes the Rev. Jesse Jackson, “A wave of nameless fear is gripping our country.” I respond with If he that is in you in greater than those living in the world, then where is that “perfect love” to cast out all fear (I John 4:1-21)?
