There's a wonderful new exhibit about pop-up art at the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art. To see tigers, sharks, Star War characters, fairies, the Emerald City and other fabulous sights rise from the pages of interesting books and disappear as you turn to the next page is almost miraculous.
We think of pop-up books as only for children but as you wonder how they could possibly be created, you realize they are amazing 3D art.
Give yourself and any children you like a real treat, and enjoy the pop-up surprises together. It will be here until the end of April. The museum is free from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursdays. It's not just for children. Don't miss it!
