CR should have casino

I lived in French Lick, Ind., for five years, a wonderful little place. They have a beautiful casino now, but not without a fight.
My argument on this (proposed Cedar Rapids) casino is what's good for the goose is good for the gander. How can our politicians allow one casino in a town and not allow one to be built in another city? They opened a can of worms when they OK'd the first casino to be built. Indiana has 11 or 12 casinos now. We know casinos are bad and good; it's up to the people to decide on this. As far as addiction, it does happen with a few people. These people will drive 50 miles or so to get to a casino; mileage won't stop them.
The casino in French Lick did a lot more good than bad. The town has better streets, nice places to eat, beautiful landscaping, a new golf course, the school system helped and the wonderful golden dome repaired. It made a big difference in employment. I can go on and on but you'd have to see it to believe it.
So why shouldn't Cedar Rapids have one?
