CR school board does not support true ‘neighborhood’ schools

Interesting article on the school board plans in the Aug. 1 Gazette. It was nonsense. The best part was the board's praise for Hoover Elementary as a successful neighborhood school and how important they are. How they would like to have more of them. Everything they have done with the new elementary schools and what they want to do with these new proposed facilities is the exact opposite of a neighborhood school. A few years ago they closed Polk Elementary, which was the ideal example of a successful neighborhood school.
I am all for neighborhood schools but obviously the school board Is not.
