CR continues to waste hard-earned tax dollars
The Gazette Opinion Staff

Once again, Cedar Rapids has wasted our tax money. The city spent $400,000 for RAGBRAI (including donations) and sold about $75,000 in concert tickets. Another big loss for Cedar Rapids.
I am not interested in the money local merchants/vendors took in, as this doesn't help our city budget. I am not against RAGBRAI. I am upset with the money our city continues to waste of our hard-earned tax dollars. I heard one comment that people would want to move to Cedar Rapids because of this - sure they will!
This follows the pattern of wasting money on hotels and other frivolous plans our City Council has. This would be fine if we had the money, but we do not.
We hear about cities taking bankruptcy around this country and I do not want Cedar Rapids to be one of them.
