CR can function without a casino
The Gazette Opinion Staff

Was that Steve Gray, the pusher of the yes vote for the casino here in Cedar Rapids, an executive of the McLeodUSA company that went broke a few years ago? If he is, dumb I listened to him and Clark McLeod that the company was solvent, and two weeks after the solvent message, the company was broke.
I was lucky, I just lost thousands of dollars invested. The employees, I heard they lost their investments, savings and retirement.
A short time after the bankruptcy was announced, Gray started ImOn Communications. Where did the money come from? I believed Gray once, not again.
Cedar Rapids got along without a casino for years and it can get along for many more.
