COVID-19 offers a way to change how we educate

The governor's recommendation for a month-long shut down of schools is an opportunity for changing the way we educate.

Educators can experiment with ways of using the internet and with small group gatherings - they can try ideas that they've always wondered about but not given approval to attempt. What is there to lose when the alternative is nothing? Schools will be closed.

There is nothing better going on in education than what you create. Instead of sitting at home in self-quarantine, why not educate? Educating is what you are good at. Everyone in education is heavily educated. Here's an opportunity to prove the value of education by conducting some real experimenting with methods you've always wanted to try.The only limitation is that you cannot assemble - cool.

What an awesome opportunity. You might discover ways to eliminate large groups of kids in classrooms, eliminate the need for large buildings, make education an individual experience every day for everyone, or eliminate bullying. Who knows what other great ideas are within your experience line.

This is an opportunity for educators to work together and create meaningful change. Prove the value of education. Make it so everyone will want one.
