Council's building decisions need explanation

Please, City Council, give us some answers on all this spending on new buildings in Cedar Rapids.
We buy property to build a new library because the old Library flooded and we couldn't use it. Now we are trying to sell the old Library to be used for a different business. Why couldn't we have rehabilitated it? Save money.
We are going to build a new transit building. Why can't we rehabilitate the old transit building and use it.
We are using money received from FEMA for buildings being razed in order to add onto, and redo the U.S. Cellular Center so we can get more groups to come in and use it. Maybe we should just change the management and use that money for something else.
A lot of letters have questioned the lack of a senior citizens center in Cedar Rapids. Why haven't we heard anything about the City Council getting a new one built?
This city needs to start thinking of ways to save money and use it for things that we really need. Are we going to forget about our senior citizens, our homeless, our other needy and our veterans?
We also have streets that are in real need of repair. Maybe we should all get
together and send the city a bill for any problems we have with our vehicles due to driving on the washboard streets we have.
