Council members should recuse or vote no on country club ‘bubble’

Out of a population of 137,710 our city council is considering downgrading a beautiful old neighborhood at the request of the Cedar Rapids Country Club. The club, which originally planned to build an indoor tennis facility, now wishes to erect an outdoor inflatable “bubble” for up to half the entire year.
This eyesore will benefit 200 very privileged members. Some of these members hold positions on our city council. This includes our mayor. The neighborhood has made its strong opposition well known.
As a life long resident of Cedar Rapids, I care about the integrity of all our neighborhoods. That's the best attraction to our city. I hope those club members who serve our whole city have the integrity to recuse themselves from voting on this issue and I ask the others to vote no.
