Costco stands firmly behind DEI

My initial experience with Costco was getting a pair of hearing aids, since I’d read positive reports on their audiology department. On subsequent visits. I was bemused to find myself among what I took to be an eclectic group of shoppers. People of all ages, rural and urban, differing ethnicities, and economic standing. Then it dawned on me that this wasn’t an eclectic group at all: It was a real cross-section of the public, drawn to this market by that most American of pursuits — the desire to get a good deal. And they seemed to be enjoying each other’s company in doing this.
So it came as no surprise to see Costco reject the hysterical campaign against DEI — and let’s all say that out loud together: diversity, equity, and inclusion. What’s not to like in that? Unlike some other corporations that have cowered, Costco seems to recognize that DEI is good business, and common sense.
