Corporate income tax cut good for businesses

Todd Dorman's Aug. 2 column begs for a response on state earned-income tax credits and cutting corporate income taxes.
Earned-income credit is unearned; it's earned by other taxpayers. To add insult, many of those who applied for the earned-income credit (at tax services) wasted as much as $300 in high interest rates and fees by requesting a portion of the earned-income credit be paid the same day. They cannot wait the two to three weeks for the tax refund to arrive. Many of these people work the system for the most earned-income credit refund.
Corporations just add income tax on to the price of their products. This makes their products less competitive in the global economy, and jobs are lost. Gov. Terry Branstad's bid to cut corporate income taxes would send a message to companies that Iowa is open for business and wants their products to be competitive around the world.
