Cornell College, Marion come through in flood
The Gazette Opinion Staff

With all the negative talk we hear these days, let's talk about the positive.
I live on Indian Creek. Over the years the neighborhood, family and friends have bonded when the threat of flooding appears. Once again, on Aug. 27, with the threat of a flood looming, they came to our rescue. A special thanks goes to head coach, Matt Dillon, Cornell College, Mount Vernon, who arrived with his family and 36 of his football players, willing to help wherever needed.
Also, thank you city of Marion, which over the years have delivered sand even though the upper portion of 40th Street Drive SE is not in the Marion district.
