During this critical time, Ron Corbett is the right person to lead Cedar Rapids' recovery and redevelopment.
Corbett has proven experience. His skills helped the city develop Fifteen in 5. Having this action plan in place before the 2008 Flood enabled Cedar Rapids and its citizens to move quickly to rebuild the city in many areas.
As former communication director (now retired) of the Iowa City Area Development Group, I had the privilege of working with a team of Corridor leaders, including Corbett.
Often the group, composed of city managers and local elected officials, University of Iowa and Kirkwood Community College presidents and leaders, and regional economic development staff, called on Corbett to identify and interpret complicated issues impacting the Corridor and determine best implementation practices for the region.
Corbett's business sense, skills and connectivity are essential to move Cedar Rapids forward. His understanding of the importance of the Corridor's economic potential is fundamental to uniting this region and bringing its power into action during this key transformational time and economic period.
If I lived in Cedar Rapids, I'd vote for Ron Corbett for Cedar Rapids mayor.
