Corbett will work to get city back on track

The time is here for us to elect the people who really want to represent us on the city council. My main concern is who is best qualified to represent us as mayor.
Brian Fagan has made comments about the decrease in crime, giving us the impression that it is all because of him and the city council. I believe that any decrease in crime is due to the job that Chief Greg Graham and the Cedar Rapids Police Department have done.
Mr. Fagan has often stated that we'll see more building in the next 24 months than we have seen in the last 24 years. This will include new buildings we don't need. He is also a strong proponent of using high-priced, out-of-state consultants and increasing taxes.
Ron Corbett has stated that he is for hiring local, spending local and building local. He has also stated that he is against extra taxation. He wants to see that our public safety agencies have what they need to protect us. He will definitely work for the people of Cedar Rapids to get this city back on track.
Mr. Fagan gives the impression that he has been through the trenches and has said that we don't need a professional politician. He has not been through any trenches and Mr. Corbett is not a professional politician. The last I heard, Mr. Corbett is working in human resources at CRST.
If you want a mayor who will work for you, cut unnecessary spending, see that local spending takes place, and will get us back on track, then you need to vote for Ron Corbett.
