Consider consequences of minimum wage hike
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Feb. 3, 2014 1:51 pm
If the government demands employers raise the minimum wage to $10 per hour, what happens to the employee who is earning $10 per hour? Are the employers forced to raise them to $12 per hour?
Then what about the employee earning $12 per hour, are the employers forced to raise them to $14 per hour?
Then what about the employee earning $14 per hour, do they go to $16 per hour?
Think about what that will do to the selling price of that employer's product.
Think about it.
