Congress should get priorities straight
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Sep. 7, 2011 12:41 pm
I'll bet that the current conservative-dominated Congress will not work with President Barack Obama to help him implement a jobs agenda.
Congress insists that the U.S. government is broke. No money to fund such a program, they'll say. That's simply not true. We are still a country with immense resources. We are able to fund wars seemingly at whim, we are able to back bailouts and we give tax breaks to billionaires and to corporations.
Congress, get your priorities straight!
