Congress should focus more on oversight duties
The Gazette Opinion Staff
May. 15, 2010 12:06 am
It's sort of amazing to watch congressional hearings on C-SPAN. Our House members and senators, from their lofty place, express high moral outrage over waste, fraud, corruption and incompetence by one federal department or another. The problems could be largely solved if those stern-faced members of Congress would pursue their oversight duties with the same zeal that they pursue money for their re-election.
