Congress, print out your oath and keep it nearby

Sens. Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst, as senators-elect at the beginning of their terms in office, spoke the oath of office in an open session of the Senate.

Reps. Mariannette Miller-Meeks from District 1, Ashley Hinson from District 2, Zach Nunn from District 3 and Randy Feenstra from District 4 spoke the oath of office to defend the Constitution in a group swearing-in on the House Floor on the opening day of Congress.

The oath each spoke with their name at the beginning. ”I ... do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God."

I ask each member of the U.S. congressional delegation to print the oath of office, fold the page and place it next to your phone. When the phone rings, it can be a reminder to read and act to fulfill the vow you spoke to faithfully discharge the duties of your office.
