Congress must challenge fabrications

The Gazette offers audio versions of articles using Instaread. Some words may be mispronounced.
The moral and ethical decadence of the Trump administration and their loyalists was clearly exhibited in their responses to the September attacks on a suspected Venezuelan drug boat.
The nefarious order to shoot everyone aboard a foreign vessel without evidence of unlawful activity, and the declaration of war without consultation and approval by Congress, should have been questioned by all members of Congress, just as it is being questioned by Americans.
Instead of challenging the Trump administration, Congress has continued to allow the administration to insult the citizenry by offering us fabrications, professed to be truths. We, the citizens who have honored our traditional humane values and obeyed the laws of justice are expected to accept the Trump administration’s unlawfulness and corruption as rational, legal, and virtuous.
How does Congress expect us to tolerate the onslaught of corruption, the degradation of our values and attacks on our national honor by President Donald Trump and his loyalists? How can any moral and ethical person not expect us to vigorously protest?
