Congress is corrupted by money
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Aug. 31, 2013 12:00 pm
The federal government spends $180,000 every second, seven days a week, every week of the year. Is it any wonder this country has a $17 trillion national debt?
Oh, by the way, the $17 trillion is only a small fraction of the government's true indebtedness. Honest accrual accounting would show unfunded obligations ala entitlement and welfare programs, that boost the true debt to $91 trillion. Future generations will look back at us with well deserved anger and disgust, unless we act soon. The current administration has shredded the Constitution and operates in a totally lawless fashion. Congress is corrupted by money and almost totally dysfunctional. It's up to us to mend the Constitution and take back the republic.
