Congress controlled by special interest money
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Aug. 7, 2009 12:46 am
I have come to the conclusion that under the Obama administration, government has given up on the opinion of constituents. So, why get worked up about what the media tells us?
All members of Congress have special interest groups so far in their back pocket that the real Americans who voted them into their lofty positions don't mean squat. Yes, even our Sen. Tom Harkin plays where the money is.
Why else would some of these rich, power-hungry take a cut in pay to hold a congressional seat if they knew they couldn't make more by selling us down the river in exchange for corporate jets and cush jobs? When the congressman asked the Big Three automakers if they flew public airlines, one of them should have had the guts to ask that congressman if he doesn't fly around on a private jet at public expense!
Are we just wasting our time voting in major elections? Aren't they just going to feed us with their lies and do what they want anyway?
