Compensation board’s workings questionable

I see it is that time of year again where the compensation board doles out its recommended pay increases for our elected county officials.
Again I question the reasoning that the individuals on the committee are lawyers and others in high positions who are appointed by the ones receiving the increases. The citizens of the city better start questioning this.
You always hear how their wages are lower than other comparable jobs. My answer would be then, why do you not pursue those jobs? I know all the other working men and women would like the same situation. I rest my case.
