To the editor:
How and why did Common Core come to exist?
How does it compare to traditional teaching and learning?
Are there states that did not accept Common Core?
Did it have its start with educators and parents or the federal government and state boards?
Did states need to accept Common Core in order to receive education funds?
Do our elite prep private schools use Common Core? Do other countries?
Does Common Core help students to be individuals?
Does Common Core provide extra or different help for students who need it?
Will college entrance tests need to be changed because of Common Core?
Iowa has STEM. Will that mesh with Common Core?
Where does the material that the facilitators teach the teachers come from?
If you pay taxes and want children to have a good education. Get the answers. Then let your legislators and governor know how you feel.
