Common core about centralized control

To the editor:
In response to 'Get answers from common core” letter of May 13, the 10 posed questions are well addressed in two books, 'The Cult of Common Core” by Brad McQueen and 'Crimes of the Educators” by Samuel Blumenfeld and Alex Newman. Both books explain that this program is not so much concerned about quality education, as it is about total centralized control.
This web of control ensnarls our future voters and cripples their ability to understand complex issues, making well thought out choices. Critical thinkers are not the desired end product of such a Washington-directed menu.
Another book, from the late 1950s, 'The Naked Communist” by W.C. Skousen, predicted this game plan by listing the 45 goals required to control and subvert a nation. Education (centralized) was No. 17 on that woeful control list. Furthermore, 'Iowa Core” is simply the same today with tangy sauce applied liberally. It is herding our youth into low information voter pools at a frightening pace. Wake up, Iowans, and take back your control.
