College basketball has changed for the worse

After spending most of the weekend of March 12-13 watching men's basketball on television, I have to ask: What happened to the game? Why do players today shoot 3-point shots all day and dunk the ball any time but they cannot seem to make simple layups or short jump shots? They also should go to their respective women's programs and learn how to shoot free throws.
Referees seem to be too old or inept to keep up with the game. I have never seen so many traveling and carrying-the-ball errors not called. Why do they allow action under the basket to become a free-for-all and then call simple fouls out beyond the free-throw circle? Why are defensive players allowed to keep their hands on the offensive player?
How does a college basketball player today get the money to pay for all the tattoos they have all over their bodies? Someone is getting something for nothing and that is a violation of the rules. Those tattoos aren't cheap.
Why are some players allowed to wear different colored sneakers than the rest of the team? I think at one time there was a rule that all team attire had to be the same.
