How can Althea Cole celebrate her immigrant ancestors and support Donald Trump at the same time? She writes, apparently with pride, of being descended from people who volunteered to fight in one war against a king and then in another war against slavery. She also pays homage to other relatives and veterans of more recent conflicts. Yet, she made the effort to research her roots while in Washington, D.C. for the second inauguration of a draft dodger, felon, liar and tax cheat who called veterans "losers."
I wonder what it will take for her to wake up to the hypocrisy? Maybe a struggle to find skilled care in an Iowa hospital or nursing home? That would be sad, as it is already for so many, especially veterans.
