In these troubled times, I'm so glad a voice like Althea Cole's is being amplified. It's that real "kick-you-when-you're-down" spirit that's missing from our current political discourse. I come away from her opinions feeling more informed about the ways in which the downtrodden in our society are mostly responsible for their misfortunes and why other people should stop trying to advocate for them or take political action in any meaningful way.
Her recent article was an absolute banger, covering a local organized food drive/protest against the cuts to food assistance and funding of mass deportations across the country. Love that she's out here putting these grassroots charitable organizations on blast!
Just want to let her know there's an upcoming charity event for a girl with cancer. People will be shaving their heads in solidarity and donating the hair as well. Maybe Althea can cover the event and find out where the donated hair goes and if it even matters, if the choices of the child's parents may have contributed to her getting cancer, and, if so, why taxpayers shouldn't have to pay for her treatment. Keep up the good work girl! You are a light in these dark times!
