Climate change a natural process

With Sen. Rob Hogg's book on climate change survival, the lady walking for climate change and David Osterberg's dueling scientists, I suppose it is time to agree that the climate is changing.

But I do not share their belief that the evil residents of the planet are responsible for the change and it is reversible if we would all go green.

No one would dispute that man's carbon-dioxide emissions add to the problem. But the climate has been changing since Earth was formed and will continue after man is gone.

Ian Plimer, a geologist, studied the Iceland eruptions of a couple of years ago that lasted four days and interrupted air travel in Europe. In that four days, the volcanos put enough carbon dioxide into the atmosphere to undo five years of worldwide green energy efforts.

In 1991, Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines erupted for one year and during that time, it added more carbon and CO2 to the air than man has contributed since he discovered fire. There are 200 active volcanos.

Hopefully the good from all the climate hype will be a discovery in clean, renewable energy. The very bad would be to sign the United Nations treaty where in we give developing countries billions or trillions of dollars with no accountability or oversight for any projects.

The amount of money that is being suggested to cure the problem would guarantee graft, waste and corruption worse than the travesty of giving Al Gore the Nobel Peace Prize for a slideshow.
