City should focus on much-needed repairs

I think it is rather suspicious that a section of the street in front of St Jude's Church was recently resurfaced just in time for the Sweet Corn Festival. I've driven this section of the roadway and I fail to understand why the city took the time and money to lay a layer of asphalt on a perfectly good cement road.
If the city needs a listing of streets that could use a layer of new asphalt I can gladly provide them with one. Lord knows it would be quite a long list and that particular section wouldn't have made my list.
Please fix and repair the streets in this town, but fix the ones that really need it first.
