City officials should use common sense

OK, folks, when are you gonna get real? Once again we need a chief of police. I hope the powers that be learn from past experience and forget about spending taxpayer dollars to do another search for a chief from some other state.
If the interim chief is good enough to serve as chief once again, I think he is more than good enough to be our next chief of police.
But, that would only make good common sense. It seems we do not have that among our city officials. They would rather spend big bucks looking elsewhere for someone to come in for a year or two and then leave for somewhere else while we pick up the tab to move them in and out and pay them a salary while in the process.
I am not familiar with the interim chief, but somebody needs to wake up and smell the coffee. Let those who have been serving the public assume the top command.
