City is planning inferior roundabouts

Roundabouts are designed to have two or three lanes to operate properly. The first to enter, and the rest to move freely and continuously to an exit. They should be large enough that vehicles have room to move freely.

Yield signs should not be used. If they are needed, stoplights or four-way stop signs should be used instead of a roundabout.

The city is building an inadequate roundabout at Hoover School, which they say will be safer. How can that be when the design of a roundabout is to keep the cars moving? They plan on building one on the corner of Johnson Avenue and Jacolyn Drive too.

The reason is the number accidents on Johnson Avenue. These have mostly, if not all, been on the corner with Jacolyn due to the fact the city never made it a four-way stop. I have talked to several businesses that told the city several times that two more stop signs were needed.
