City hasn’t used LOST money properly

I will vote “no” on extending this tax. The city has used thousands of dollars of the present LOST to fulfill its wish list. They are using this money for the fire stations and library. There is no definite plan for a flood wall. The last sketch I saw had limestone walkways and parks. The language on Tuesday's ballot is not specific. I am sure that they will want to hire another consultant and repeat many of the things that already have been done.
The City Council keeps spending on things that we could do without instead of using that money for the things we need, like having streets fixed. Our property taxes are going up and they are blaming that on the rollback instead of cutting back on spending.
We still have a few years to go on the present LOST. I say wait and see if the council's spending and their word improves. We have many people in this city who live on a fixed income. They cannot afford to pay more taxes.
Another project that is going to get some of the present LOST is the new public works building. There is no reason to tear this building down and build a new one. There are many businesses that fixed up their buildings and are using them. There is no reason why the city can't do the same thing.
