City establishes its own rules

Concerning the proposed 20-year extension of the local-option sales tax: Nothing has been approved for funding at the federal level and chances are good nothing will be funded. What happens if this happens?
The city expects its citizens to live by the rules it establishes. The Corps of Engineers has rules also. Abide by them.
Are people and businesses rebuilding? Visit downtown, New Bohemia, 16th Avenue, residential areas. It appears most agree with the Corps of Engineers on chances of a reoccurrence. The county is going back to its flooded building. Recently, the mayor was bragging about 400 new jobs for Rockwell Collins. Where are these jobs going to? Right in flooded downtown Cedar Rapids.
This plan is nothing more than an attempt by the city and developers to acquire land along the Cedar River for their grand plans and to get you to pay for them. I am surprised the white-water course has not resurfaced.
If this 20-year tax is passed, it will effectively kill any other LOST for the next 20 years for other projects such as our schools. Is this what we want? My home was flooded and I rebuilt.
