City Council should follow doctor’s lead

The City Council closed Second Avenue with total dismissal of the people's objection. They redirected flood recovery money by manipulation of the words that defined its usage. Did they think these deeds would have no affect on their image?
The people didn't reject (May 3 sales-tax extension vote) spending money to protect themselves from the river. They rejected the council's ideas because the stakes were too high while trust was too low. The council readily offers real benefits to businesses and developers while offering blue-sky dreams for the rest.
The council needs to display the kind of courage demonstrated by Dr. Chirantan Ghosh, who was dismissed from Physicians' Clinic of Iowa for, in part, not supporting their medical mall. It takes courage to stand up against the flow.
What does it say about our council when a simple choice by a local doctor makes him stand so tall he could be confused as the city leader?
