City benefiting and we’re paying

The Federal Emergency Management Agency found $18 million in damage at an old Cedar Rapids factory building on the fringe of the flood with no basement and probably no more than a foot of water. Now they found $13 million at a non-working power plant. And all this from a federal government that's broke.
I can't believe FEMA is that stupid, so no doubt there's something else is involved. But, be that as it may, you'd think the taxpayers would share in this largesse. In a city with $72 million to share with their downtown associates, we have to OK their tax extension to get our streets fixed.
With all the jobs created, I wonder why I had a food bank sack at my front door. Could it be that all this prosperity is not shared? We need change. Please do not vote for any incumbent.
