To the editor:
The cicada and presidential candidate share the same likeness. They both come out at certain time period intervals, give off their loud spiel and are gone.
The cicada comes every 17 years. The candidate every four years. The cicada has transparent wings. The candidate, it's his or her speech that's transparent.
Every four years when the candidate appears, the doomsday debt clock has grown like a malignant tumor. Eighteen trillion and counting. Soon we won't even be able to pay the interest. The candidate has helped grow this tumor and now in his transparent message, he wants to save us.
We should lengthen the appearance of the candidate more in line with the cicada.
