Christ’s laws should be taken at their word

The June 17 letter titled “Commandment removal hurts society, schools” reflects letters in the past. Maybe we should be focusing more in putting all 10 of the Commandments back into the Christian churches. A God of love is presented, but his justice, his denunciation of sin, and the requirements of his holy law are all kept out of sight.
Christ presented the law as a divine unity, showing that it is impossible to keep one precept and break another; for the same principle runs through all.
While the blood of Christ avails for the repenting soul, Christ is not the minister of sin, and there is no peace, no assurance, no genuine hope for anyone who ignores the claims of God's law and tramples upon its just demands. “Sin is the transgression of the law” (1 John 3:4).
By many, the Word of God is discredited as divine revelation. Its teaching has been modified or adjusted to better suit this modern age. God does not change his plans and devise new expedients to save man in different ages or dispensations. With him “is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” (James 1:17).
Faith isn't religion, miracles, ceremonies, profession or belief. It is simply taking God at his word, feeling or no feelings. (Matthew 8:8-10, Luke 18:8.)
