To the editor:
I am pleased to endorse Chris Hoffman in Tuesday's special election for Johnson County supervisor. I served with Hoffman for 12 years on the North Liberty City Council and the NL Telecommunications Commission.
He listens to various viewpoints and he makes the best decision for the city. He will listen to the diverse opinions in Johnson County and will come up with responsible solutions for problems. He collaborates with the various governing bodies in Johnson County and he is familiar with their responsibilities.
While some would call the board's 'go it alone” approach leadership, that approach has not served intergovernmental relationships. Hoffman will seek positive relationships with all of the municipalities and all of those affected by proposals. He is familiar with the budgeting process and has handled North Liberty's growth so that plans are prioritized and this approach has resulted in no tax rate increases. He is fiscally responsible.
He is aware of the problems in Johnson County, such as mental health and county wide transportation. He will reach out to other elected officials to solve problems and leave politics at the door.
He will be a voice for all of Johnson County. Please join me in voting for a proven leader.
