Choose a leader who will fulfill promises

To the editor:
As eligible voters in Iowa, we have the unique opportunity to meet and evaluate presidential candidates from both political parties.
With this benefit comes the obligation to consider the issue positions they present as being most important to our nation's future. We must sift through the pandering, media spins, attack ads and unrealistic promises.
Then we must select the candidate, regardless of party affiliation, whom we most trust to lead our country. However, this effort is wasted unless we attend our precinct caucus and support our favored candidate.
The caucus process, while unique to each party, seeks to nominate their best, most electable, next president.
To participate simply:
1. Choose whom you support to be our next commander-in-chief.
2. Find the time and place of his/her precinct caucus. (https://sos.iowa.gov/)
3. Attend, register, and participate. (Independents may temporarily register and later cancel).
Iowans should bring our common sense to the door. We should speak our minds and support our favored candidate. By participating, we encourage the nation to focus on the most important, not the most self-serving issues of the day. We challenge the credibility of each candidate to accomplish what they promise. Then we must select a problem-solver with the life experience, leadership skills and moral compass to preserve our Constitution, keep us safe and restore the United States of America as the trusted leader of the free world.
