Choir could sing anthem better than entertainer

I don't understand why singing our national anthem has to be done by a big-name entertainer.
The national anthem can stand on its own merit without all the drama. Perhaps the powers that be might consider having a military choir or even a high school choir do the job - they would do so without the drama and would not forget the words.
