Changes suggested for Greene Square revamp

After reading about the plans for Greene Square Park, I would offer the following suggestions:
1. Eliminate the tiny oval walking trail.
2. Spread the picnic tables around the park rather than having them all clustered together.
3. Have something wonderful for the centerpiece of the park. I would be willing to bet, if put to a vote, Cedar Rapidians would select a beautiful fountain over another beautiful metal sculpture by a 100-1 margin.
The city is going to be stuck with whatever is built in this makeover. I hope the decision-makers will take a long, hard look at this plan and see if it can be improved upon.
