In response to Marilyn J. Gray's Jan. 17 letter:
“Remember Iowans:
“All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men (and women) do nothing. - Edmund Burke.” We did something; you did not like it.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world, (or Iowa). Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. - Margaret Mead.” We did; you did not like it.
Why discuss Bob Vander Plaats? I care less if gays get married. Why clutter up our court records? Gays will live together if they wish, regardless.
I voted to remove the three justices in question because I always vote to remove all judges. Judges are merely lawyers who dictate our lives to us. One term for a judge is enough time to be in the government feed bag.
Most of us have consciences to tell us what is right and wrong; we do not need judges to do so.
