Cedar Rapids needs a pet loss support group

To the editor:
I cannot believe that a city the size of Cedar Rapids does not have an organization that would be willing to offer a pet loss support group. This would not be a huge time commitment. Even once a month would be beneficial.
There are studies that show how important the bond between a human and their pet is, so it shouldn't come as a surprise when we suffer grief at their loss. No one understands this grief better then another person who has gone through the same loss. The group would give us a place to connect and just talk.
