Cedar Rapids is attractive setting for casino

Several weeks ago, a letter regarding the casino issue for Cedar Rapids or the Linn County area was published. Nothing has been heard on the subject since. Is proximity to three existing casinos the cause for lack of interest? Can the people's interest be revived? Would local and or state government not approve?
The last voting on a casino here was defeated approximately by only 3,000 votes. How often do the anti-vote residents think about the amount of revenue lost by the defeat? Consider all the money that has left the area and will continue to be a profit for the other casino communities - how those funds could have local governments toward better education, lower property taxes, city and county infrastructure maintenance.
A location, for example, along I-380 between Cedar Rapids and Center Point could be an attractive setting for a large casino, hotel and golf course. Is there any spark for having a casino in the Cedar Rapids/Linn County area?
