Catholic school deserves public support
The Gazette Opinion Staff

Iowans in Support of Public Education is a coalition that resents public money flowing to private schools. I would rather support the school of my choice, not theirs.
A former public schoolteacher told me that when informed by her principal that slow learners were dealt with by promoting them, she got a job in a Catholic school where achievement was the only way out.
I support the local Catholic school and I don't even genuflect. I enjoy sin but Iowa City alley cats who tax us into poverty with their park-and-trail mania and “let the next guy pay for it” mentality enjoy it even more.
I invite collectivists and other sinners to make a contribution to the Regina Foundation or one of the other private schools in town. If the other schools are as erudite as Regina, sinners may want to abolish the ICCSD.
