Casino will not improve quality of life
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Feb. 3, 2013 12:50 pm
Why is the idea of a casino being sold to us? Is it jobs that will pay less than living wage?
What happens to the existing jobs at five casinos already in the area? It is hard to believe that gambling enjoys such popularity that all casinos and investors can profit. Who are these regular gamblers?
What about the gun toting? Will we have confrontations between the good and the bad guys in the streets? Do drugs come with gambling? What about prostitution? Will we have less prostitution than we do now?
The real issue here is quality of life. The children of families living here will not have a better life when more criminals move in. Just because we are told a casino is a good idea, it does not mean it is one. Vote no.
