Casino approval process doesn’t seem fair compared to other development

I agree with Mary Turner's letter in The Gazette (Sept. 1, “Who should have a say in a new casino in Cedar Rapids?)
I've "preached" her message for years. I offer the example of the Xtream Arena in Coralville. Was an impact study done to see what building it would do to the existing Cedar Rapids arena offering? Not that I recall. I'm not fanatically supporting a Cedar Rapids casino, but I am always a fan of fairness.
