Carson, Trump lack compassion for poor

I was dismayed to read that HUD director Ben Carson has proposed a plan that would increase the rent on subsidized housing for the poor, disabled and some elderly people. Refer to the April 26 article 'HUD plans to raise rent for poor on federal aid”.
Carson and President Donald Trump seem to have little compassion for these people.
I would hope that leaders of the Christian right would come forward and express their outrage against this plan. However, I am doubtful that they will do so.
